A Life of Service -- May 30, 2010

As part of our church's 150th anniversary celebrations, we chose Memorial Day weekend to honor all those in our history who have served in the armed forces. During worship, we recognized all the veterans in attendance, and we adjourned after worship to a flag display outside representing all 95 veterans in our church's history. We read the names of those who had lost their lives while in the service, and played Taps. The sermon reflects this theme, focusing on Jesus' statement, "No greater love than this: to give one's life for one's friends." For what would you give your life? For Christ? Scripture: John 15:9-17
