Sons and Daughters, Prophesy! -- May 31, 2009
On Pentecost Sunday, St. Luke's was blessed to welcome 10 young people into the full membership by the rite of confirmation. They have been together preparing for this day for two years with classes, mentoring, worship, service and participation in all aspects of church life. To be confirmed, each one needed to make a profession of faith before the entire congregation. These are their Statements of Faith, in their own words.
On the original Pentecost day, Peter spoke to the crowd that had been filled with the Spirit, and he told them that "your sons and daughters will prophesy!" At St. Luke's, we saw that promise come true this Pentecost. Our sons and daughters did indeed prophesy to us.
